Modern English Watercolour signed Robert Lobleng England dated 1986

A handsome modern English watercolour signed and dated 1986 from England in the lower right of Derwent Water from Great Wood by Robert Lobleng retaining the original matting and frame. Derwent Water is a National Trust listed woodland in Keswick in the upper Lake District of England that contains this famous lake. The area is quite well known for its extremely picturesque and scenic landscape qualities and has been a favourite site for artists for the last three centuries. This artist chose a thick rag paper to work with in order to accentuate the impressionistic quality of the colours as they meld together. The combination of the rolling hills with forest and field that meet the water's edge is quite potent as are the rich colours of green that predominate in this work. Whether hung singly or as part of a collection this is an excellent example of the watercolour artist's ability to capture a particular scene.
