An antique Chinese Happy Buddha hand painted ceramic figure from China circa 1875 from the Kuang Hsu period. The Happy Buddha represents the embodiment of prosperity (seen in the sack of gold grasped in his left hand), longevity (seen in the pattern of bricks representing structures for dwelling) and abundance signified by the hand painted emblems covering the front and back. The smiling visage of the Buddha bestows his grace in every direction as this figure was often given and received as a wedding gift. Please notice the red wax seal on the underside signifying its antique age and release for export by the Chinese government.
