Antique English George III Bowfront Mahogany Sideboard Table England circa 1820

The simplicity of this antique English George III period bow front sideboard table circa 1820 gives it a certain modern quality. The pattern of the veneered mahogany grain on the drawer fronts has marvelous movement while the expanse of the solid mahogany top features a large scale pattern. The warm color and patina seen on this English sideboard serving table has always been an integral element of its desirability. This mahogany table is unusual because it is truly table height at 30" high making it suitable for use as a server as well as a bedside table or console table. The three drawers that comprise the front also follow the bow front shape of the overhanging top with each having a raised beaded edge. The circular hardware has a three feather raised motif associated with the Prince Regent later to become King George IV. The table stands upon four straight tapered legs that support the top and enclose the drawers for structural stability and support.
