Antique English George III Elm Bench circa 1780

This antique English elm joint bench dates from the George III period circa 1780. The elegant simplicity of the single plank top is enhanced by the four straight legs set an an angle to ensure stability. Please notice the mortise and tenon construction where the legs join the top as well as the lovely patina achieved through years of waxing and polishing.
