Antique English William IV Mahogany Sideboard Buffet Server Table circa 1835

A handsome William IV period antique English mahogany buffet sideboard server table circa 1835. This type of English sideboard originated in the early nineteenth century as homes moved away from from elaboate staffing at meals. The two cabinets open to reveal both shelving and drawer storage for napery and spirits while giving elevated display surfaces on either end. The quality of the timber and the construction are superior. Please enlarge the photographs to see the details in closeup. The clever cabinet makers ensured the three separate sections (top, left and right cabinets) are easy to move and fit together tightly and securely. The centre serving section is 37" high.
