Antique French Painted Oak Table Three Drawers France circa 1880

The rustic quality of this antique French painted oak table with three drawers from France circa 1880 is evident in the substantial construction. Four vertical legs join the plinth feet and are reinforced by a pair of horizontal stretchers that are attached both to the legs and the feet. The top of the table has a rectangular shape with three full size drawers beneath the top set into the apron. All three drawers retain their original drawer pulls that are screwed into the middle of each drawer front. This was obviously a work table given its simple profile and solid feel. Interestingly the table is finished on all four sides so it may be easily used behind a sofa.
