Antique English Tudor Rose Leather Studded Folding Screen circa 1875

An antique English Tudor Rose leather folding studded screen with three panels from England circa 1875. Comprising three panels and finished on both sides this leather screen features a terrific assortment of brass hardware etched with a five petal Tudor Rose pattern. Please note the leather on this screen is affixed to solid wood panels so it is quite substantial in weight. Be sure to use the enlarge and zoom features offered on our website for each photograph to see the splendid details on this one of a kind folding screen. Known in France as "para vents" literally translated as against the wind this leather screen was used adjacent to the door of a warm room to shield the occupants from a nasty draft of cold air during the winter. The quality of this English room divider screen is apparent from the elaborate hardware with its etched surfaces as well as there isn't any timber visible as it is entirely sheathed in the leather covering. The central panel measures 19" wide while the left and right panel measure 18" wide. The center panel stands the highest at 69" high.
