(On Hold) Tall Antique French Louis Philippe Pine Bookcase Bibliothèque Display Cabinet circa 1850

A tall antique French Louis Philippe pine bibliothèque bookcase display cabinet from France circa 1850. The slender proportions and decorative details on this antique pine bookcase display cabinet are quite unusual. Please look at the crown and the feet to see the distinctive profile developed during the reign of King Louis Philippe in France (1830-1848) that give this piece an elegant appearance. Both the upper and lower cabinet doors feature a subtly shaped moulding that offers visual definition because of the slight scallop design. Be sure to use the enlarge and zoom features offered on our website to examine these details as well as the super patina of the waxed surface in all the photographs. Notice the very shallow depth of this antique cabinet which makes it ideal for placement in any area of a home. In addition the upper doors are fitted with classic French chicken wire instead of glass. This material gives the display cabinet an extra element of contrast and lends to its informal air. The upper interior features four adjustable shelves to maximize display opportunities (we only show two shelves inside, the other two appear in the photograph of the back of the cabinet). Because the top section is separate from the base this piece is a cinch to move anywhere desired.
