Antique Reclaimed Architectural Server Console Table circa 1850

This massive antique architectural beam circa 1850 has been repurposed as a console server table with a custom modern steel framed base. Please enlarge the photographs to see the awesome effects of the passage of time on this huge section of timber. The original lacquered finish remains on the wood and provide a superb contrast to the open fissures in the timber slab. The slender metal base has a graphic geometric quality that contrasts superbly with the antique quality of the beam. Seen from any direction this long and shallow table will be a focal point in any contemporary or modern interior. Salvaged from a hand built structure in Indonesia the weight and heft of this one of a kind beam is mesmerizing in its visual and tactile effect. Very reminiscent of an organic modern combination of new and old to create a one of a kind piece.
