Art Deco Vintage French Rosewood Mahogany Maple Buffet Credenza circa 1930

An Art Deco vintage French rosewood, mahogany and maple buffet circa 1930. The beautiful profile of this Art Deco buffet reflects the streamlined modernism that gave Art Deco its name. The creator of this buffet combined both rosewood and mahogany to contrast with the bold line of the lighter color maple timber. The two doors in the center both have a gilded sphere knob set within a circular roundel of ebonized wood. The raised top section has a gentle curve that echoes the pedestal base. When seen from any direction this buffet has a handsome presence. All of the doors open to reveal interior storage. Please be sure to enlarge all the photographs to see the details in closeup especially the manner in which the different grain of the timbers contrast and complement one another.
