Grand Vintage French Louis XVI Style Brass Three Arm Sconce France circa 1970

A grand scale vintage French Louis XVI style cast brass three arm sconce from France circa 1970. This large sconce showcases both a favourite pastime of Louis XVI in the form of the three hunting horns that form the arms of the sconces as well as a symbol of the royal house. The oak leaves and acorns have always been a symbol of strength and protection and were particularly associated with the French royal family. The entire sconce appears to be suspended from the lively ribbon at the top. In addition please enlarge the photographs to see another hunting motif with the foot of a doe, known as a pied-de-biche, that was extremely desirable to find on a day's hunt. The scnce is ready to be wired for electricity if so desired or it may be used as is.
