George III Antique English Mahogany Double Drop Leaf Pedestal Table circa 1820

A unique George III period antique English mahogany pedestal table having two levels, each with drop leaves on a tripod base circa 1820. Originally used as a table adjacent to the dining table or in a library or study this table allowed additional food and drink to be placed within easy reach. The upper level is smaller in diameter than the lower level and both may independently have the leaves raised or dropped as needed. Each leg retains its original brass casters which allowed the table to be moved as desired. It is easy to imagine a freezing cold night seated in front of a roaring fire with this table laden with delicious victuals next to one's chair and how pleasant that must have been.
