Modern Bespoke English George III Burl Walnut Credenza England

This handsome modern bespoke English burl walnut credenza is a hand made reproduction of a George III period original design. Designed for the twenty first century this bespoke English credenza is fitted with a pull out drop down drawer in the centre made for a wireless keyboard. When fully opened this credenza features a drawer on the left and right flanking the keyboard drawer while the left pedestal is a full cabinet door (disguised as three drawers fitted with hardware) and the right pedestal has a single drawer above a file drawer (also disguised as two drawers). Please notice that this credenza is meant to be seen from both the front and the sides as both pedestals feature raised applied moulding on the outside as well as the outside giving handsome decorative detail. Both the left and right pedestal stand on ogee shaped bracket feet that elevate the credenza in a pleasing manner. The top is divided into three sections with each section filled with full grain cowhide (not bonded leather) embellished with a hand tooled border highlighted with silver leaf. The use of leather began in the eighteenth century so writing pens did not press upon a wooden surface but the the soft leather surface instead. All of the drawers and the cabinet have brass pulls and locks that work with a key. This George III style English burl walnut credenza is bespoke and hand made and is able to be ordered in a custom size. Please contact us for pricing and details.
