(On Hold) Georgian Style Antique English Oak Corner Cabinet England circa 1860

The handsome and lavish carving on this antique English oak corner cabinet from England circa 1860 is reminiscent of that seen during the eighteenth century Georgian period. Entirely carved by hand (please use the enlarge and zoom feature for each photograph) the patterns include both a series of geometric decoration as well as a free flowing organic design. The upper door of this antique Georgian style corner cabinet features the original glass panes set within glazing bars with the glass having that wonderful rippled appearance given by the passage of time. Seen through the glass is a painted interior for display with scalloped shelves each having a plate groove. The pale colour of the interior is a perfect foil for the variegated surface of the carved oak exterior of the antique corner cabinet. The lower section has a pair of cabinet doors each filled with extravagant carving along with the original wood knobs. Accessed by a working lock and key the interior has a shelf to double the available storage area. Notice the shaped apron between the front legs having a bold curved pattern that complements the overall carved design of this antique English corner cabinet. This corner cabinet is a single piece as seen in the last photograph.
