Georgian Style Rustic Timber Lantern Found in Holland

A modern Georgian style rustic timber chandelier lantern found in Holland. This circular lantern has its frame sheathed entirely in sections of timber with the bark remaining attached. The three scrolls that support the round frame reach a point at the top where the fixture is suspended from a chain. This triple scroll is echoed by the three lights contained within the open sided lantern that may take up to a sixty watt chandelier base bulb. Please notice the use of wrapped rope trim that encloses the lantern stem. As this lantern comes from Europe the light bulb sockets need a bit longer base. The curious fusion of the formal Georgian shape with the rustic material is quite unexpected and gives the lantern a contemporary edge..
