Vintage Dutch Organic Natural Elm Tree Trunk Modern Sculpture, Holland, circa 1920

The unique configuration of this vintage Dutch tree trunk sculpture circa 1920 resembles a marine sail fish with its jaws fully open as it slices through an open sea. The bark has been removed from the exterior and then the trunk has been polished to reveal a beautifully textured and coloured surface. As the trunk is viewed from various angles it takes on a variety of appearances, some abstract and some definitely representational. Equally at home in an interior as a piece of natural sculpture the trunk may also be used effectively out of doors where it may be placed to serve as a focal point.
