Neoclassical Painted French Bibliotheque Display Cabinet Bookcase circa 1995

A large Neoclassical painted French bibliotheque display cabinet bookcase circa 1995. Modeled on 18th century French built in libraries this example has three sections for ease of movement as well as fully adjustable shelves in each of the cabinets. Please enlarge and zoom on the photographs to see the elegant details such as the subtle moulded detail beneath the crown, the "breakfront" profile with the centre cabinet slightly deeper than the left and right side cabinets and the storage cabinets at the base each defined with paneled doors. The entire French bibliotheque bookcase display cabinet stands upon a plinth base that mimics the sensibility of a built in cabinet. But it is the proportions of this French cabinet that give it an essential sense of gracefulness. Notice the height compared to the width as it sweeps upward and enables a wonderful amount of display bookshelf space to be encompassed. The slender depth is an added positive attribute as the piece has a wonderful lightness in its affect within an interior. Simplicity itself, clean and modern lines, luscious colour.
