Painted Wood French Lantern France circa 1900

A painted antique French wooden lantern from France circa 1900 having five sides and now rewired for American electricity. Please note the turned wood top that has five scrolled elements that connect to the body. The five vertical supports have a slightly tapered slant and enclosed five pieces of textured amber glass. A smaller version of the five scrolled elements are visible at the base and terminate at a finial. This fixture originally hung in the loggia of a small villa near Marseilles.
