Pair Antique French Painted Oak Cabinets circa 1875

This pair of antique French painted oak cabinets circa 1875 feature an upper and lower cabinet door with the upper door fitted with wire mesh. Please notice the architectural presence of these bibliotheque display cabinets as they stand upon a plinth base and each have straight sides. Obviously the cabinets were epecially made to flank a doorway or window because each cabinet has recesses paneled doors on the front but are also fully paneled on each side. The all over paneling indicates this pair of bookcases were designed to be seen from three sides as their placement in an interior meant they could be approached from every direction. Both doors in each of the cabinet open separately with keys and reveal display space above (two adjustable shelves) and storage below (one adjustable shelf). The tall and slender dimensions of these matched French cabinets imbue them with an elegant feel and ensure their desirability within a current interior. Each cabinet is one piece while the cabinet doors may be removed for ease of transport.
