Pair Vintage French Stepped Iron Display Frames Blue Stone Shelves France circa 1940

A pair of vintage French stepped iron frames used on an outdoor terrace in a garden in France circa 1940 with Belgian Blue Stone shelves. Please notice the terrific open and modern silhouette that enables the shelves to support and display interesting vessels filled with plants on different levels. The angular lines of the iron give an intriguing contrast to the organic quality of the plant material. Although these pieces were originally used for plants they would also be striking as display stands for unusual objects in an interior. The contrast between the iron that retains its original oxidized finish and the polished patina of the stone used for the shelves is quite striking as well as useful. These pieces are offered individually ($1991) or as a pair ($3982).
