Pair Tommi Parzinger Uplight Torchiere Floor Lamps circa 1960

This pair of Hollywood Regency Moderne brass and blackened metal uplight torchiere floor lamps circa 1960 are attributed to the famous designer Tommi Parzinger. Originally from Germany Parzinger emigrated to the US and worked in New York where he quickly became known for his talented and prescient eye. After forming his own company he presented a new collection every year until he retired to concentrate on painting. These lamps each have a circular base with a slender shaft that supports a flared upside down bell that contains the socket for a standard base bulb. Please notice the dramatic decorative motif beneath the bell making reference to the ancient Greek Key design. Sleek and sophisticated these floor lamps have a floor swith for easy off and on.
