Pair Vintage French Bronze Renaissance Louis XIV Style Shield Back Sconces circa 1920

This pair of exceptionally grand scale vintage French Renaissance Louis XIV style bronze sconces circa 1920 have been freshly wired for American electricity and fitted with wax candle sleeves for the bulbs. Oval in shape with a generous amount of decorative embellishment emphasizing the abundance of Nature this pair of French sconces showcase the fruits of the natural world amongst the balanced symmetry so prized during the late renaissance into the reign of King Louis XIV in France (1643-1715). Both arms extend away from the wall in a graceful curve and have a circular bobeche (drip pan) originally used to capture wax dripping from a burning candle. The arms are now electrified and feature a simulated wax candle with raised drips. Each arm will accommodate a chandelier base bulb.
