Pair Louis XV French Walnut Corner Cabinets Iron Hardware circa 1875

A pair of Louis XV style country French walnut corner cabinets from France circa 1875. Each French walnut corner cabinet has a drawer and a cabinet door with the original iron hardware. Please use the enlarge and zoom functions offered on our website for each photograph to see the details of the luscious patina and iron work. These are a true pair meaning that the doors open opposite each other with one latch on the left side of one cabinet door and the other cabinet door having a latch on the right. When placed in the corner the doors open to the left and right to reveal an interior storage space with a shelf while each drawer opens fully by the iron pull. Both French corner cabinets have gently shaped cabriole legs on the front joined by a gently curved apron to form a continuous undulating line.  The cabinet doors each have a recessed panel with a symmetrical arched top framed by the cabinet surround while each corner has a shaped rounded profile distinguished with a pattern of carved detail. Originally these French corner cabinets were anchored to the wall by the large iron hook at the back but now they are free standing. The simple cabinet top also has a curved edge to complete the pieces.
