Vintage English Glass Battery Acid Vessel, England circa 1890

A rectangular vintage English battery acid glass vessel container from England circa 1890. This unusual container was used in an industrial setting where it could be filled with a mixture of acid for cleaning and disinfecting without causing harm. The variegated thickness of the side walls and the thick base reveal the hand done nature designed to concentrate the weight at the base making the vessel extremely stable. Now this container is fascinating on its own or filled with any variety of objects for display. This season we are planting a pair of amaryllis bulbs inside the vessel because the height of the sides will support the stems of the flowering bulb in an attractive manner. There are four of these unique vessels and they are offered individually at the listed price.
