"See No Evil, Speak No Evil, Speak No Evil" Candlestick Lamps Beaded Shades circa 1950"

A pair of custom lamps circa 1960 with stacked monkeys using their arms and hands to "See No Evil, Speak No Evil, Hear No Evil" circa 1950. Each candlestick is mounted on a square Lucite base and electrified to support a single candle arm topped with a hand made beaded shade. The details of the monkeys perched one atop the other is quite good and the lamps are finished on all sides. Please enlarge the photographs to see all the details in closeup. The source that popularized this pictorial maxim is a 17th-century carving over a door of the famous Tōshō-gū shrine in Nikkō, Japan.
