Set Eight English George III Chippendale Style Mahogany Dining Chairs, Custom Stain Finish, England

A set of eight, two arms and six sides, handsome English Chippendale style mahogany dining chairs from Great Britain. This chair is based on a model created by Thomas Chippendale circa 1760 and supplied to furnish Nostell Priory in West Yorkshire. The elegant scroll to the top of the back is enhanced with a delicate carving and directs the eye to the central arrangement of intertwined elements of the splat. The chairs feature a straight front to the seat with block front legs in the front and back legs with a slight flare. All four legs are joined by horizontal stretchers for stability and strength of construction.
