Contemporary Italian Floor Lamp found in Italy of Perforated Iron circa 1995

A contemporary Italian floor lamp found in Italy that showcases a rectangular cage of perforated iron surrounding a single light source. The base is a square piece of steel reflecting the square outline of the light sheath and that the two sections are connected by a single length of pipe. Please notice that the steel has been allowed to oxidise. The punctured surface of the material surrounding the light source focuses attention on the bulb while casting an unusual pattern of illumination. The extreme simplicity of this design creates a powerful sculptural presence and will be intriguing in a modern interior or will provide an unexpected counterpoint in a more traditionally designed space.
