Tall Antique German Biedermeier Walnut Mirror circa 1830 (30" w x 89" h)

This tall Biedermeier antique German burl walnut mirror circa 1830 has a tall and slender shape and was originally placed between a pair of windows in an upscale Berlin residence. The beautiful grain of the superb walnut provides a delightful contrast with the raised fronds of the stylized palm leaf placed above the original mirror glass. Designed to reflect the desire for restraint and powerful imagery this antique mirror has both. The simplicity of the architectural lines of the frame with its clean pediment top provides a terrific background for the symmetrical placement of the arching individual fronds made of pale colored walnut. The sculptural aesthetic of the palm is achieved by its three dimensional rounded form. Please be sure to enlarge the photographs to see both the grain of the burl wanut in the outer frame but most especially the nine individual palm fronds to see that each frond contains a book matched pattern of the walnut stained in a pale color. The mirror glass measures 21 1/2" wide x 61" high making this a perfect dressing room mirror if desired.
