Vintage Italian Neoclassical Pedestal Table Glass Top Italy circa 1960

This enormous vintage dining table has a pair of Neoclassical cast stone column bases from Italy circa 1970 with a substantial glass top and was originally created by the famous set designer Don Bolen notable for his work with Houston Grand Opera. Each vintage Italian column is square in shape and in three sections. The square base has a flared lip and supports the central square section with its vertically ribbed design seen on four sides. The capital is Corinthian in style which is the most elaborate of the three orders in Italian Classical design beginning with Doric then Ionic and finally Corinthian. Please take advantage of the enlarge and zoom features to see the great detail and sculptural interest of each of these columns and the manner in which the large glass top allows each of the columns to be seen in their entirety from all four sides. Whether used with traditional or modern chairs this table is an elegant solution to marry a contemporary feel with a nod to the past. The signs of wear in the painted finish and nicks and scrapes to the finish add to the visual interest and overall appeal of this table. This is a grand scale table and is located in our warehouse. Please let us know if you would like to see the table and we will make arrangements to meet with you at the warehouse for you to see it in person.
