Vintage Walnut Rosewood Chair Prague circa 1900 Kubismus Style

A vintage modernist walnut and rosewood chair in Cubism style from Prague circa 1920. The extraordinary use of veneer on this Czech chair is quite arresting because of the contrast in both color and timber grain. Influenced by the revolutionary Cubist style developed by Picasso and Braque in the early 20th century, Kubismus (The Czech term for Cubism), was an avant grade movement adopted by architects and designers in the capital city, Prague. Please enlarge the pohotographs to see the amazing detail lavished on every surface of this unique chair. The seat is 19" high.
