Empire Period Antique French Painted Gilt Bronze Hanging Wall Clock circa 1810

An unusual Empire period gilt bronze mounted, painted wall clock with the works by “Bartinque á Paris” from France c. 1810 encased in a painted wood case with applied bronze doré mounts featuring a pair of portrait busts wearing elaborate helmets. Strikes on the hour and half hour with a gentle chime. We love the deep green color and the hand made wooden case reflecting the Imperial ambitions of Napoleon I, Emperor of France. Please be sure to enlarge the photographs to see the hand made details in closeup.
